I had a dream last night about the blog awards, it's become bigger than all of us so it's time for something different. Thanks to Niall for his really nice mention of me in his top three food blogs. Niall has done incredible work on his iFoods venture in the past year.
Val's Kitchen has, of late, become a movie set for my 10 year olds current film endeavour. After his last success he's now busy at work making a stop-motion animation about Darth Vadar getting the wrong cake for his birthday and getting the hump, a battle breaking out and all hell breaking loose. During our research we've found some priceless stuff, not family viewing you understand. So have a look here and here for a blast, it takes me back to our "hilarious" antics in school where we would recite the Knights who say Ni monologue, didn't everyone? The funniest of all is this .
The picture is a still from Leon's film. It's done in the cheerfully painstaking way of one frame at a time, then they are all put together, sound and dialogue put on etc. He's using Lego figures plus plastiscine for the effects, explosions etc. I haven't got a clue how to put it together but I do have a programme called Monkey Jam. Does anybody know how it works? The film has to be ready in a week. EEK!
I have the great pleasure of catching up with Limerick man Andy Lee, Ireland's current Super middleweight boxing champion, to ask him about his favourite foods for Vals Kitchen in print. Click here , click on the digital version button on the right and turn to page 31
